Providing support and friendship to all those affected by Breast Cancer
Bosom Pals Support Group are a voluntary, non-profit making organisation who work closely with the Breast Care nurses at Southend Hospital by attending the ATMO meetings held by the hospital for those signed off after treatment, which is a time when it is possible to feel very alone and isolated with your fears. The group, open to men and women, has been running for over 20 years, and all members have either undergone or are in the process of receiving treatment.
WHAT WE OFFER
Breast cancer can happen to anyone regardless of age, sex or ethnicity. We offer a cup of tea, a friendly ear, encouragement and, overall, lots of laughter. We have a Facebook group, open only to members, where you will find support and a comforting word when needed.
Bosom Pals Southend Support Group meet every third Wednesday of the month from 7.00pm at The Stables, Chalkwell Park Drive (rear of 195 Leigh Road), Leigh on Sea, SS9 1LX. There is ample free car parking. Our meetings are informal and relaxed, but please feel free to bring a friend with you for support until you get to know us better. A subscription fee of £1.50 is payable on the night.
